Game Writing ContestLeadership-Values - An activity to understand the significance of values for leadershipLeadership Values are values that the leader values and upholds so that the organisation can proceed on the right track to achieve its goals. Here's an activity to help trainees understand the significance of upholding values as leaders.Leadership Values Activity: List values that are important to you in small groups on flip charts. On a scale of 1 to 100, assign a value to each of the value listed on the flip chart. Pick up those values that have an average score between 90 and 100. Usually there will be four or five such values (say: equity, justice, integrity, love, attitude). Assign each of these values to groups of five to eight. In each of these groups ask the participant to think of an event in which a value was under pressure/or compromised. They have to write this situation on the flip chart. Count off to five internally in the groups. Then get the groups to split and come together as groups of all ones, twos, threes, fours and fives. Each of the groups will have at least one representative from the values assigned to them in the previous activity. Each group is now sitting in front of one of the situations written on the flip chart. The task for this jig saw group is to apply the five different values on the situation in front of them and see how the consequence gets transformed as a result. Debrief: Understanding that application of different values can change the outcome of a situation Understand that it is possible to have a conflict between values. There is such a thing as a 'better right'
