Empathy game

by Jerry Pardiwala
(India)

Can be performed on a small group of size 8-10.

Ask all the participants to take a small piece of paper which can be folded & used as a chit. Ask them to write down the following 3 things:

To: Name of any other participant in the group
From: The name of the person himself or herself
Task: Any task that the person would like the person in "to" to perform in the room/on stage

How is it played: Ask the participants to fold the piece of paper, after filling the information, in a way that the information is not seen. After that, start picking up the chits one by one & ask the person in "from" column to perform the task that s/he has given to the person in the "to" column. There will be a lot of embarrasment & fun.

Moral: Why do we expect others to do things which sometimes we are incapable of doing?

empathy game

The moral of the game is very important to learn in this game. It will relieve some kind of guilty feeling in us after someone does what we cannot do. We did thesis paper writing on such kind of games too. Actually these games were included in some of the famous puzzle books too.

the sadist in you!
by: arnavaz

a great way of realising the sadist in you. it also teaches another lesson, "what goes around, comes around". a fantastic game to play among teenagers and adolescents. rather than giving them lenghty speeches, just this game will do it all.. kudos!

Re: how to ensure everyone's participation?
by: Leena

Considering it is the facilitator who is picking up the chits and asking participants to perform, everybody in the group will have to perform. No options.
Hope this helped.

how to ensure everyone's participation?
by: Anonymous

hi, I think its a great game! thanks for the resources! however, may i ask, how can we ensure that everyone gets a chance to "perform"?i would reckon the more popular ones among the group would be chosen most of the time.hope to hear from you! Thanks!
